The development of villages and cities can usually still
be recognized after centuries. As a settlement on furtile
soil, as a trading post on a river bank, as protection
against water or enemies. Building was done for people.
Of buildings, no matter how old, various purposes can
often be recognized. For instance churches, apart from
their original purpose as places of worship, are often
landmarks in a city. Squares are useful for markets and
events, but also as meeting points or as a marking point
to show someone the way. As an architect, one designs
for people. Buildings and spaces that, through their
shape and purpose, will be used for a long time. Points
and places of importance.
