Woonhuis
After shopping centre Groot Driene had been destroyed by
a fire in 1996, a new shopping centre had to be realized.
For the rectangular, relatively narrow plot, Johan Fieten
produced a clear concept with parking facilities on both the
north and the south side. The pedestrian passage was
made attractive by a curved shape which narrows to street
width, from both spacious entrances. In this the food court
forms a pleasant breach and functions as a meeting point
and an intersection with a separate ‘slow traffic route’ to
the residential area.
